Foxtail Barley Seeds
Info: Foxtail Barley, or also called Squirrel Tail Grass, originates from North America and is a most attractive ornamental grass with 10cm long, creamy-coloured, feathery flower spikes. The grass grows to about 40cm and is annual in our latitudes. It is ideal as ornamental grass for pots, rock gardens and as an accent in low borders. It is also useful for cutting and drying.
Sowing & care: Sow from March in pre-culture or from the end of April outdoors. Foxtail Barley prefers a nutrient-rich, fresh and slightly salty soil. In warm locations with mild winters, Foxtail Barley can also be cultivated for several years, but then it needs sufficient frost protection. In summer it is more likely to be too dry than too moist. Avoid waterlogging.
