Cucumber

Cucumbers are very thermophilic and belong to the pumpkin family (Curcubitaceae). There are numerous varieties that can be distinguished according to their intended use: salad cucumbers, for pickles or as snacks. Cucumbers need a lot of nutrients and grow fast. If grown outdoors they need a sunny and wind-protected place and usually a climbing support. They are also well suited as nutritious greenery for fences, especially as they also have pretty, attractive flowers. Regular watering is important so that the cucumbers do not become bitter.
