Elephants Trunk Red Chili Seeds

Info: The Elephants Trunk Red Chili is a variety from India, and due to their uneven surfaces they really do look like small trunks. The plants can grow very large (up to 1.20 m) and the chilies are approx. 15 cm long, but can also reach lengths of up to 20 or 25 cm. They are juicy and flavourful and are particularly suitable for pickling or stuffing with cream cheese. They are also suitable for fresh consumption, for cooking and for grilling.

Care: The germination temperature is between 22 und 28°C (8 - 21 day germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.

Gigantische Außmaße

Tolle Pflanze. Im Gewächshaus können einige Früchte sogar eine Länge von 30 cm erreichen. Dazu sind sie noch sehr schmackhaft und aromatisch. Auch ideal um sie einfach wegzuknabbern. Wobei sich aufgrund der Größe schon eine ordentliche, wenn auch erträgliche, Schärfe um Mund entfaltet.

Schnelle Keimung

Ich wurde auf diese Chili durch Bekannte aufmerksam und habe mir einfach einmal die Samen bestellt.

Ich habe sie in einer Salpeterlösung für 24 Stunden vorquellen lassen und habe die Samen danach in meinem Zimmergewächshaus unter Einsatz einer Heizmatte bei 28°C keimen lassen.

Nach 4 Tagen kamen die ersten Keimlinge zum Vorschein und entwickeln sich super.

Ich habe 11 Samen gesät und habe mittlerweile 10 Pflänzchen.

Sollten sie jetzt noch im Geschmack punkten werde ich sie definitiv im kommenden Jahr wieder säen. :)

Guter Service, Schnelle Lieferung!

Also ich habe dieses Jahr das erste mal diese Sorte gewählt. Habe 4 Samen in einem einfachen Mini Gewächshaus gepflanzt. Alle 4 sind nach etwa 10 tagen auf der Heizmatte gekeimt und wachsen schön kräftig nach oben. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen!
