Pumpkin Cornells Bush Delicata Seeds
Info: Squash `Cornell`s Bush Delicata` produces narrow, elongated fruits with cream coloured skin and dark green thin stripes and the very sweet, orange flesh has an excellent sweet and nutty flavour. It is ideal for must uses such as roasting, baking or soups. The compact bush habit makes this variety a good choice for small gardens and large pots. This winter squash variety stores well for 4 months.
Sowing & cultivation: Pumpkin plants need a lot of space as creeping plants and a good nutrient supply. The soil should therefore be profound and nutritious. From mid-May can be sown directly into the open field. Depending on the variety a plant needs up to 2m² of space. Abundant irrigation is very important, especially in the beginning. A typical pumpkin problem are snails. Try as protection a thick ring of sawdust around the young plant. It should be fertilized with a few horns, four weeks later with full fertilizer. The harvest begins in September and lasts until the frost.
Distances: 1,5-2m row distance, in the row approx. 1m.
