Black Pearl Seeds
Info: The Black Pearl chili is a very beautiful ornamental chili with leaves that change colour in strong sunlight from dark violet to almost black. Violet leaves develop on the plants, from which numerous, small, berry-shaped, upright growing chilies develop, which ripen from green to black to red. The plants remain compact and small and are therefore suitable for growing in pots on the balcony or windowsill. Ornamental chillies can be eaten without hesitation: they are very spicy, have a light pepper flavour and are suitable for cooking and drying.
Care: The germination temperature is between 21 und 28°C (8 - 21 day germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.
Tips for successful chili cultivation can be found in our Chili Cultivation Instructions and in the Chili Diary.
