Organic Thunder Mountain Long Horn Chili Seeds
Information: The Thunder Mountain Longhorn Chili comes from China from a region with the so-called "Thunder Mountains", hence the name. The bright red, slender, thin-walled chillies can reach record-breaking lengths of up to 30 cm or more. They have a medium heat and are flavourful with a fruity-sweet note. The plants can grow up to 150 cm high and develop a tree-like crown with countless of extremely long red chillies. They are suitable for fresh consumption, for cooking, e.g. for omelettes or they are allowed to dry on the bush in hot summers and processed into powder.
Care: Germination temperature is between 22°C and 28°C (germination period: 6-20 days); it is therefore recommended to use a greenhouse and a heating mat. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised permeable soil and should not be left in standing water. They should be placed in a sunny, sheltered place with at least 6 hours of sunlight per day, if not more. Place the plants outside around 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost. When you plant the seedlings outdoors, take care to leave at least 45cm of space between each plant.
