Red Zebra Tomato Seeds
Information: Tomato `Red Zebra` is a lovely beautiful red-yellow striped variety and a a naturally occurring cross between Green Zebra and an unknown, though certainly red, parent. The fruits can grow to the size of a tennis ball and have an excellent sweet and spicy flavour. They are ideal fresh in the salad, but also suitable for sauces and tomato jam. The bountiful, high-yielding indeterminate vines grow up to 180 cm tall and need support.
Care: You can grow tomatoes at home, in a greenhouse or outside. Cover seeds only slightly with soil. Optimum germinating temperature is between 20°C and 25°C, germination takes place after 5-15 days. You can accelerate germination by priming them overnight in a damp cloth. The young plant should not be planted outside until after the last frost.
Tomatoes need fresh, well-fertilised permeable soil, which is kept damp (but not wet!). They should be placed in a sunny, sheltered place with at least 6 hours of sunlight per day, if not more.
