Alyssum is a stunning compact cushion plant that produces flower carpet all season from July to September. Alyssum has a a sweet, honey-like fragrance, is easy-to-grow and free flowering. It is ideal for lining walkways, borders, edgings, in rock gardens, on stone walls and between paving stones, and for containers or in window boxes.
Sowing & care: Sow directly outdoors from mid-March. Cover the seeds only slightly with soil. For early flowering, sow seeds undercover with warmth 3-6 weeks before last frost and transplant to trays when large enough to handle. Stonewort prefers a fully sunny location, but also grows well in light shade. It thrives best in permeable soil.
