Aubergine White Casper Seeds

Info: Aubergine `White Casper` is an attractive pure white French heirloom with an excellent taste. They are a reliable, but slow producer of 15 cm long glossy white eggplants. They prefer a cooler climate in comparison to most other varieties. Under optimal conditions they can bear fruit right up to the first hard frost. They do not store very well and should be eaten within a day or two of harvest. Stored in the refrigerator their skin will sometimes oxidize and turn brown. The aubergines are suitable for grilling, roasting or baking.

Sowing & cultivation: Sow January to April for growing under glass or from May on outdoors. Sow 2-5mm (¼ in) deep, but do not exclude light as this helps germination. Acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions for 10 to 15 days. Plant out into sheltered site when all risk of frost has passed with a distance of 40 to 50 cm. They need a sunny and sheltered place and hand pollination will improve the set of the first blossoms. Feed every 14 days with high potash (tomato or chili) fertiliser once the first fruits have set.

Hingucker und super Ertrag

Ich bewerte so gut wie nie etwas, hier muss ich aber. Ich habe die Samen vor Jahren gekauft und bereits 2x angebaut. Obwohl sowohl dieser als auch letzter Sommer in Norddeutschland ziemlich bescheidend, kalt und regnerisch waren, trug diese Aubergine "wie wild" (obwohl sie im Freien, ziemlich ungeschützt stand). Auch hatte sie, im Gegensatz zu der "normalen" lilarnen Aubergine überhaupt keine "Krankheit" (obwohl diese direkt daneben stand).
Die letzten Früchte habe ich Ende Oktober geerntet, da war sie noch am blühen (daraus wurde selbstverständlich nichts mehr).
Die Früchte sind eher auf der kleineren Seite. Die Haut ist etwas fester und angenehm knackig.
Lecker und zudem ein echter Hingucker - sieht nicht nur beim Blühen wunderbar aus (hell-lila mit etwas gelb), sondern auch die strahlend weißen Früchte sehen wirklich hübsch aus.
Wird auf jeden Fall wieder angebaut.
