Pepperdew Pikante Chili Seeds
Info: The Pepperdew or Peppadew (TM) Pikante Chili is a popular cherry pepper with is often stuffed with cream cheese and pickled as antipasti. The Pepperdew Chili originates from South Africa and, since it belongs to the Capsicum baccatum species, the plants grow relatively large (up to 120 cm). The fruits are small and round, ripen to a bright red and have a moderate level of spiciness. Due to their juicy fruit flesh and unique flavour, they are suitable for fresh consumption, but they are incredibly versatile and can be used in a variety of ways: pickled and stuffed as antipasti, as a side dish or even in combination with sweet fruit or in cocktails.
Care: The germination temperature is between 20 und 28°C (7 - 22 day germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.
